You'll need filtered water, chia seeds, honey, and lemon juice. So let's get started. I like to do one tablespoon of chia seeds for every 12 to 14 ounces of water, so we're going to go ahead and fill up the cups with water, and right away you'll notice the chia seeds are floating to the top and some are sinking to the bottom.
First, the water. Obviously, the water is super hydrating and it's gonna make you feel energized. Second, the chia seeds. Chia seeds are plant-based protein, so they have not only protein but also fiber and healthy fats in there as well, so they're gonna keep you feeling satiated, and just help overall with your digestion.
Third, lemon juice, the lemon juice is loaded with vitamin C, so that's really gonna aid digestion and also give you some energy, and then the honey, just there to sweeten things up. Let's check up on the chia seeds again.
You'll notice that it started floating to the top and some are sinking to the bottom, but you'll notice the texture has plumped up a little bit, so we're halfway there. We want to give it one more mix. So within a few minutes, you'll notice that the chia seeds are fully floating. You might want to mix it a couple more times but I think just mixing it once in the beginning, waiting five minutes, mixing it again is completely fine and this is the end result.
So now, it's
time to flavor it. So you could have so much fun with this. I like to keep it
simple, with just some honey and lemon juice, just to make it accessible on a
daily basis, but you can also put some fresh herbs in there like mint or
basil, and you could put pureed fruit or whole fruit in there, which just
makes it more fun.
So now I'm
just gonna go ahead and flavor it with a little bit of lemon juice and a touch
of honey, because the chia seeds are pretty bland on their own, they don't
really have any kind of taste, so I like to add a little bit of honey to
it.
Give it one
more stir, and now we can add a couple lemon slices just to help make it look
extra fancy, and there you have it, chia fresca that's energizing, super fun,
and just very hydrating, just a great way to have your water and get some
