2022 Suzuki Katana | Sharper and Cleaner | EICMA 2021 | PowerDrift
updates that are coming straight from EICMA 2021.
if you're already a fan of our channel, do remember to reset the notification bell so that you do not miss out on all these updates and with that, let's talk about the 2022 Suzuki Katana.
I love the proposition of the Katana, it's such a good mix of the old and the new, old in a sense where you're getting the styling from the 1980s and 1990s, but you're still getting a fairly new engine.
It's not really a brand new engine, it's something that we've seen before, but enthusiasts all over the globe, they loved it back then and they still love it now, and it's the engine from the 2005 K5.
Now for the year 2022, it's Euro5 compliant, and through this compliance, there's also been a slight bump in power. So earlier the Katana used to make 148hp, for the year 2022, it makes 150hp, not just that the ride-by-wire throttle has also been improved and that will mean there's a smoother delivery of power, there's a new slipper clutch in place, there's three riding modes, there's five levels of traction control, and there is a bi-directional quick-shifter in place as well.
So in that sense, the new Katana is sort of equipped with all the electronics that a modern motorcycle has to offer in today's day and age. Apart from that the chassis is going to remain the same and the motorcycle for this year is going to be offered in two new colours as well.
As far as the India relevance goes, Suzuki has been playing around with the idea of getting the Katana to India because it is based on the same platforms as the other two motorcycles that you see in the S class which essentially is the S 1000 as well as the S 1000F or the GT as it is called now.
So now with the Euro5 compliant engine in place, I think Suzuki should find it easier to transition to the BS6 compliance that we have here in India and with the way we have seen Suzuki price their products it should not be as expensive as some of the Ducatis that we have in the country or on the other hand, it should not be as accessible as maybe the 10R that you see in the country today.
But in that sense getting an in-line four with the kind of looks that you seek, I think the Katana is a fairly decent proposition for someone who's looking at that motorcycle. The 2022 Katana is a very exciting proposition and I cannot wait to see it in India.
let us know at what price point should the Katana come to India and finally do remember to share this with your friends who are fans of this motorcycle. Bro, next time onwards, don't barge into the frame. Looking at the bike made you go crazy right? Don't blurt such feelings out loud, go and try hit on someone first.
